Sports in the UK

Sports in the UK

Rugby
Rugby is played in over 120 countries around the world.Generally, there are 15 players per team, though 7-players per team are also popular. Sometimes, there may also be 10-players per side. Each team must score as many points as possible. In rugby, carrying, passing, kicking and grounding the ball score points for the team. The team with the most number of points is the winner of the match.

Unusual sport in the UK:
The most unusual sport in the UK which must be very funny is the Pancake Racing - In which each participant carries a pancake in a frying pan. All the runners must toss their pancakes as they run and catch them in the frying pan. In Cyprus we have many traditional sports which we enjoy them in some celebrations and specifically on Easter. One of the most famous is the bag-running which people put their legs in a big bag and they have to run until the end.

Britain and knife crime

Crime and Justice

The last decades in Britain has been investigate that young people are carrying out a knife. Young people believe that they are more powerful and they will receive respect by doing that. Recently there have been a lot of knife crimes. The media, the schools and the British government are very worried about it and they trying to find a solution  about that.

The brother of Brooke Kinsella was murdered before two years.Miss Kinsella had made some recommendations about young people and knife crime which are:

  • anti-knife crime presentations for school children
  • more data sharing between police, schools and other agencies on local issues
  • a best practice website for local organisations
  • in order to stop them getting involved in knife crime, people ought to do more work with young children

About her brother Ben...

The police has been said that he has been in a pub called Shillibeers and he stabbed around 2am by a group of youths. After the event Ben was taken by ambulance to the hospital where he died. There was a witness who was unnamed he saw Ben lying down in a pool of blood.
